A different kind of greed...
I have something to confess. Last night Ken and I ate an entire 500ml tub of Ben and Jerry's oatmeal cookie ice-cream while watching 'Before Sunrise'.
In the film (or movie for readers across the Atlantic), one of the main characters talked about greed - people are greedy for money, for clothes, for fame, for success. He then added, people are also greedy for spirituality and to be a better person.
Actually, maybe spiritual greed, isn't all that much different from any other kind of greed really. All we really seem to want is to be better than the next person. If we can't be richer, if we can't be more successful, well, maybe we can be more spiritual or ethical, or compassionate or politically aware or something like that.
Well, it made me think anyway...

Spiritual greed? I may be deluding myself, but don't think I ever competed about that. I've never been sure I would make it upstairs. Of course as a last resort I have in mind to go around to the back door and hope Mary will let me in.
But of course as you may know, southerners are often guilty of poor-talking.

i guess there is good greed and bad greed. if what you want depreives someone else this is bad greed - eg, if i am greedy for money and cheat people. if there can be an everybody-wins scenario, then this is good greed - eg, i am greedy for social justice and this motivates me, i am greedy for worship and this glorifies god.
also, both you and ben are clearly greedy, but you had a great evening! go for the full litre next time ;-)
Haven't tried 'Peace of Cake' nope. My off license (the source of my ban and jerries) doesn't have a great deal of flavours...
